2048 is the addictive tile-merging puzzle where you slide numbered tiles across a 4×4 grid. Tiles with the same number merge when they collide — 2+2=4, 4+4=8, all the way to 2048. After each move, a new tile appears. The goal is to create a 2048 tile before the grid fills up. Easy mode spawns only 2-tiles; Medium adds occasional 4-tiles; Hard throws in more 4-tiles to raise the difficulty. Use arrow keys, WASD or the on-screen D-pad. Swipe to play on mobile. One undo is available per game.
How do you play 2048?
Use the arrow keys (or swipe on mobile) to slide all tiles in a direction. Identical tiles that collide merge into their sum. A new tile appears after each move. Reach 2048 to win.
What happens after you reach 2048?
You can choose to keep going after reaching 2048 — there is no hard limit. The puzzle continues until the grid is full and no merges are possible.
